Pavan Rathnayake, born on August 24, 2002, in Colombo, Sri Lanka, is a 21-year-old cricketer known for his role as a top-order batter. He bats right-handed and bowls right-arm offbreak, bringing a balanced skill set to the game. Educated at Mahanama College in Colombo, Rathnayake has shown promise in his cricketing career.
In T20 cricket, he has played 16 matches and has a strike rate of 105.31. Despite being early in his career, Rathnayake’s potential as a top-order batter is evident. He made his first-class debut for Sri Lanka Police Sports Club in Tier B of the 2018–19 Premier League Tournament on 17 April 2019.
