Sammu Ashan, born on January 9, 1998, in Colombo, Sri Lanka, is a 26-year-old cricketer known for his role as a top-order batter. He bats right-handed and bowls right-arm offbreak. Ashan received his education from Ananda College in Colombo.

In his T20 career, Ashan has played 51 matches, boasting a strike rate of 117.38. His contributions at the top of the order have been crucial in many matches, showcasing his talent and reliability as a batter. He made his first-class debut for Sinhalese Sports Club in the 2016–17 Premier League Tournament on 28 December 2016. He made his Twenty20 debut for Sinhalese Sports Club in the 2017–18 SLC Twenty20 Tournament on 24 February 2018

Currently, he is part of the B-Love Kandy team in the Lanka Premier League (LPL), where he continues to develop his skills and make significant impacts on the field.
